In Accounts - Cashbook - Receipts, the following error message appears.

How can I resolve this?

Answer

This may come up straight away as the posting date will always default to today's date. If today's date is not in an open period it will not allow you to post to that date. This pulls from the nominal ledger periods that are currently open.

If this is a previous period and the nominal ledger month has already been closed there is no way to get around this. 

If this is a future date you will have to month end the nominal ledger so the correct period is open.
