Following the release of Pinewood DMS Update 17.17, it is now possible to set up PDI templates. Essentially this means that Vehicle Admins can now reverse the time it takes to manually type out typically PDI requests, as now a template can be setup.
The PDI Operation Templates can be set up in the following location:
> Workshop
> Parameters
> PDI Operation Template
Within this screen to fully create a PDI Operation Template you'll need to Create a Template.
Clicking Create will allow you to enter a new PDI Operation Template. You will simply need to add in the name of the template (the system will not allow duplicate names)
You can also Amend and Delete existing templates from this screen. Double clicking a Template once created will allow you to allow operation lines to be associated to it. Simply click Create at the bottom of the screen in order to add new operations
Within this screen you will need to define the following for each operation; Description of the operation, the Load Hours for the Workshop department, the Invoice Hours for the workshop department and the Operation Type. Once completed – this can then be saved.
You can also assign any checklists you wish to be associated to these operations when added to workshop PDI requests from the dropdown
You can also Amend and Delete existing operations for each template from this screen. Once created, these can then be used when creating Internal Bookings through the PDI routine in order to speed up the process and give a uniformity to the jobs going through the workshop department.
After having creating your PDI template you'll then need to add operation line(s) that are required, you'll be able to give a Description, Load Hours, Invoice Hours, Type and a Checklist (if required) for each operation, once finished click Save and this template will then display when in the following screen.

> Stock Management
> Prepare For PDI
From within this screen you'll see that there is the option now to select the PDI Template you wish to pull through for the specified vehicle, once selected you'll then see that all Operations setup in the Template have now pulled through.
