Within Workshop, you are unable to credit to an INTVM account. Therefore, the Workshop department will need to raise and then produce a credit to the INTER account. To correct this difference a journal will need to be posted to resolve this.
The guide on how to complete this process within the Workshop module can be found by clicking here.
Below are how the nominal postings will look when you have first invoiced off the INTVM job:
Debit | Credit |
Workshop Charge Nominal(s)
INTVM Suspense Nominal
INTVM Suspense Nominal
Stock Nominal for Misc. Cost |
This will also display on the Financial Summary and Costs Tab within the Vehicle Stock Card.
To reverse this posting the following steps are taken:
Post a negative misc. cost via Vehicles > Stock Management > Preparation to reverse the charges on the Stock Card and Financial Summary. This will create the below postings:
Debit | Credit |
Stock Nominal for Misc Cost
Control Code for Misc Cost |
Raise a credit to INTER Account (identical to initial invoice, same parts and labour etc) via Workshop > Invoicing > Raise Credit and then Workshop > Invoice > Produce Credit. This will create the below postings:
Debit | Credit |
Workshop Charge Nominal(s)
Internal Transfer Suspense Nominal
Internal Transfer Suspense Nominal
Internal Charge Nominal |
Journal between the Internal Charge Nominal and the Misc Cost Control Code in Accounts > Nominal Ledger > Journals > Journal as below:
Debit | Credit |
Internal Charge Nominal
Control Code for Misc Cost |
This reverses all the postings taken place. INTVM and INTER are self-clearing accounts so do not require postings made directly to their accounts.
