Question

How do I Delete Bin Locations?

Answer

You would need to go to Parts > Maintenance > Bin Location > Delete

The system will present any BIN Locations that is valid for deletion;

  • BIN Locations that do not have active part numbers associated.
  • BIN Location is not marked on the Mask record.
  • BIN Location is not marked as the default BIN Location for the department.

To delete, double click the BIN Location required and this will move this to the Selected BIN

Locations window;

Once all required BIN Locations have been selected, select the Delete button.

The system will prompt β€˜Delete Selected Bins?’, select yes to proceed and No to go back to the Delete page.

If Yes has been selected, the system will then prompt how many Bins have been deleted;

If the BIN Location is attached to any inactive Part Records at this stage the system would update the location of those parts to the default BIN Location held for the department

Within Parts > Parameters > Department Details > Parts Maintenance.

If the part record is ever then reactivated, the BIN Location held will be what is set as the default BIN Location for the department.

**Please Note: If you re-create a deleted BIN Location at any time, the system will reactivate a previously deleted location. There will then only be one instance of that BIN Location within the system.**
