Question

Why are the Franchise Parts pulling through the wrong Product Group when created?

Answer

If you have "Franchise Parts" that are defaulting to the Base Default Product Group, held within:

Parts > Parameters > Department Details > Dept Details 1

This product group should be used for the creation of "Regularly" created parts, while franchise parts should use there franchise specific Product Group.

This can also pull from the mask details held in:

Parts > Parameters > Mask

The default Product Group that has been set up in here, can be used for the franchise product group instead of the correct franchise specific product groups.

If it occurs that when creating a part it pulls across the wrong Product Group, such as in the example below:

The franchise for the part is "Mazda" but the product group is pulling across as Citroen.

This is due to the "Franchise Product Group" not being mapped in the parameters, this is found in:

Parts > Parameters > Department Details > Dept Details 2 > Franchise Product Group

It shows as below:

We can see that the Mazda Franchise has not been mapped here, which is what causes the parts to default to the wrong product group.

Once mapped here the issue will be resolved.
