Question
How can I create Part Explosions, and what uses do they have?
Answer
The explosions option, is a way of grouping parts together to form parts kits. These are referred to as explosion parts and are used to speed up the issuing of common parts. Explosion parts may be used within invoicing and workshop issues.
To set up the part explosions you need to go to:
Parts > Maintenance > Explosions
The explosions screen will show all currently created explosions with the option to 'Delete' if not required.
The 'update Supersessions' option will modify all explosions to use the latest part numbers.
After selecting create, you are then presented with the following window to create the new explosion.
The explosion reference is what will be keyed into the part number field within invoice or workshop issue, instead of the part number.
A list of parts and their quantities can then be added before you select accept.
Now when you go to the invoice screen, instead of typing out the parts individually, you will just use the explosion reference and select enter.
This will then present the first part in the list of the kit which can then be added to the invoice. Once you add the first part the next part will then be presented and so on.
