Question

Why can’t I set an Internal Parts Supplier?

Answer

If the “Internal Parts Supplier” box within Parts > Maintenance > Supplier Maintenance > Suppliers is greyed out when selecting an internal parts supplier, this may be because the account still has an outstanding parts order against it.

To see this go to Parts > Purchase > Receipts > Ordered and select the supplier from the Drop Down.

Any Outstanding supplier orders will need to be cleared down before it gives the option to tick the box within Supplier Maintenance.

To clear the orders they need to be processed by entering an advice note number and clicking next

All outstanding orders will need to be fully receipted in order to set a supplier as internal.

Once complete, return back to the Supplier Maintenance screen and the Internal Parts Supplier box will be available to select:

If the Internal Parts Supplier box is still not available you will need to ensure the below criteria is met:

  • distribution enabled
  • not set as hub and spoke
  • currency need to match divisional currency
  • no outstanding orders
