Question
Unable to amend a customer record which has a deposit attached to it, how can I resolve this?
Answer
This is to prevent the over-typing of records with deposits.
If the Deposit is not linked to a Vehicle or Workshop job (this can be told by the red 'X' under both columns for Workshop and Vehicle) then you can go to the Deposits tab of the CRM record and refund the deposit.
If the deposit is linked to a Vehicle then follow the following steps:
Go to Vehicles - Reporting - Accounts - Deposits
Search for the deposit using the filters available.
Once you have found your deposit, double-click on it and you will see the following options:
Click on Transfer.
Select the 'Transfer To' option.
You are then able to transfer the deposit to a different CRM record (a 'dummy' or 'test' record is suggested)
You can then amend the original CRM record, and then finally transfer the deposit back to the newly amended, correct, CRM record using the same procedure once again.
If the deposit is linked to a Workshop booking/job then you will need to go to:
Accounts > Sales Ledger > Reporting - Deposits tab and find the refund in the same way as the above, and perform the same steps to clear this from the CRM record. Vehicle deposits can also be refunded in this screen.
