The VED Table within the system can be utilised to allow the vehicle excise duty or road tax to be automatically calculated when creating a customer order for a vehicle.

To view the VED Table, go to: Vehicles > Price List > VED.

When you first view the table, you will see the VED Rates from 2019, which is an automatic calculation that is switched on within the system:

Alternatively, if you didn't want to use these rates, you will be able to go into the second tab where you can enter prices and enable the calculation.

Within this tab, all the prices will be set to 0:

If you want to use this table, then click the 'Amend' button to fill out the table as necessary.

The 'Initial Registration Fee' field is where you would be able to enter the fee for new vehicles.

Once all the fields have been completed, you will be able to flag the 'Enable VED Automatic Calculation' field to enable this calculation and then click 'Save'.

The 'Next Year Rates' button provides you with the opportunity to enter in new rates, when they are known, before they become effective:

Once you've clicked the 'Amend' button you will be able to enter in an 'Effective From' date, so from that date entered, the new rates will be used.

The calculations on the customer order would be based on the rates entered in either one of the tables, in addition to the CO2 emissions that have been entered against the vehicle (You can view these emissions in Vehicles > Reporting > Stock Cards).

Please Note:

The auto calculation is only enabled where it is a New Vehicle and Auto Calculation is on.

VED is not calculated until a user clicks through into the VED field on a Customer Order and a Desired Delivery Date has been entered. This will then populate the Desired Delivery Date of the Customer Order.

If the Desired Delivery Date is after 01/04/2017 then the period will default to 12 only (6 will grey out).

If the VED is already calculated and a user changes the Desired Delivery Date on the Customer Order itself, this will not retrigger a calculation. To calculate the VED again the user will need to select the VED field on the Customer Order.
