Question

How do I resolve the 'Existing Session Detected' Error when trying to Log In?

Answer

If you are getting the below error when trying to log into the system:

This is caused by one of two things:

1. An existing session of Pinewood DMS is already open on your PC, you will need to locate this and use the 'New Session' button in the side menu to have more than one window of the system open.

2. Instead of clicking the 'Log Off' button in the side menu the 'X' in the top right-hand corner has been used to close the window down. We advise that when you wish to close a window of Pinewood DMS the 'Log Off' button is always used.

If there is no existing window of Pinewood DMS on your PC, please follow the below steps to rectify the issue:

- Close all tabs/windows you have open in Internet Explorer, then retry opening Pinewood DMS and the error should have cleared

- If the error is still present the Temporary Files and Cookies folder will need to be cleared, to do this follow this article on how to clear Temporary Files and Cookies on Edge.

Reload Pinewood DMS to log in and the message will be cleared.
