Question

Why might a Technician be unable to clock onto a Workshop Job?

Answer

Tech+ allows users to clock on and off of jobs, perform Vehicle Health Checks and add videos to help maximise service and repair opportunities.

A Technician may be unable to clock on to a workshop job if they see this icon on an operation line.

This icon symbolises a note book meaning this particular operation has been ticked as โ€˜notes onlyโ€™ when the job was created or the operation line was added. Due to this being flagged as notes only, this isnโ€™t classed as an operation and more of a pointer for Technicians to follow when doing the job.

This notes only line can be added within Pinewood DMS.

Go to Workshop > Jobs > New Job, under the Job details tab click Add and you will get a pop up to add a customer requirement and an operation line. Within this pop up there is a โ€˜Notes Onlyโ€™ tick box, once this is ticked the operation line will be unavailable for a technician to clock on to.

The notes only line can also be added within the TECH+ App.

Click โ€˜Find a Jobโ€™ and click on the job which you would like to add a notes only operation. Then click the add icon in the bottom right hand corner. This will then bring you to the add operation screen. The screen shown will then let the technician add a requirement, details, select a job type and load hours. All of these fields are mandatory fields. Within this screen you can also click โ€˜Notes Onlyโ€™.

This function works the same as the โ€˜Notes Onlyโ€™ tick box within Pinewood DMS and will not allow technicians to clock on to this operation line.
