Question

Why the Monthly Service Turnover Doesnโ€™t Match the Repair Order Register

Answer

Users may expect to see the same figures in the Monthly Service Turnover report and one monthโ€™s total on the Repair Order Register. This is not necessarily the case as these reports show different figures.

You can export the Repair Order Register and view the figures for specific categories within a chosen time period. The excel sheet below shows an exported December 2021 report.

If we pick the Labour hours for the month period of 01/12/21 to 31/12/2021, we will see this figure of ยฃ399.50 of labour work being invoiced over the month.

In the DataPoint Monthly Service turnover, the labour turnover reports ยฃ612.

Even though both figures display the labour figures in this one-month period, they wonโ€™t always match.

The reason for this is that the Repair Order Register shows figures for jobs that have been invoiced within the month. The DataPoint report, on the other hand, shows figures for all jobs that have been raised within the month.

A December monthly service turnover report will report on jobs that have been raised but not necessarily invoiced yet. A job raised in late December but invoiced in January will not show on the December Repair Order Register but will show on the December DataPoint report. Hence the discrepancy in figures.
