Additional contact methods have been added to the Data Protection 3rd Party Consent Question.
Where there is a 3rd Party Consent Question enabled in the DMS within CRM > Parameters > Communications > Data Protection - 3rd Party Consent tab, there is now the option for 'In App' and 'In Car' to be selected as allowed Contact Methods as part of the Contact Preferences process:
These additional options of 'In App' or 'In Car' are only applicable if supported by the Manufacturer. If they are not applicable currently, they can still be asked of the customer in the event that these additional options become available in future.
If 'In App' or 'In Car' is ticked prior to the functionality becoming available with the Manufacturer, it will not have an effect on any contact being sent out until they are supported by the Manufacturer.
These 'In App' and 'In Car' options are not mandatory and do not need to be selected where it is not necessary.
Please check with your Manufacturer if these are applicable.
When 'In App' is ticked and a Customer has the Manufacturer's App downloaded on the customer's mobile device, this will grant permission for the 3rd Party to contact the customer via the App.
If 'In Car' is ticked then the Manufacturer will have permission to contact the customer via the In Car system in their Vehicle.
