Question
I have a yellow bar appearing along the top of my system saying 'Please ensure this is a trusted site and when prompted, select "Run" to install the Pinnacle Smart Client'. How do I resolve/get rid of this?

This will fix the issue when the SMART Client error appears at the top of Pinewood DMS (as below) or any other error with Smart Client.
First thing to do is check that your Pinewood DMS URL is set as a trusted site. To do this, open up an internet explorer browser and press the cog in the top right.
When given the drop-down menu, select 'internet options'
Once clicked, a pop up box will appear. Click 'security' at the top.
Then click 'Trusted Sites'
Make sure that the security level is set to medium, as shown in the red box at the bottom.
Click the 'sites' button to then bring up the next box.
Once there, type in *.pinnacledms.net and then add it to the box of trusted sites.
Make sure the 'Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone' is un-ticked.
Press 'Add' to add the website to the list below.
Then press close.
Press 'OK' on the remaining box, and then try Pinnacle again.
If it still doesn't work after trying this, you can move onto the Smart Client Fix download.
Type this into the address bar at the top of your browser http://172.24.250.250/downloads/
You should see the following page:
Scroll down and find the download link for the Smart Client Fix.
Click download. Once it is downloaded, right click on the ZIP file and press 'Extract All'.
After you've clicked this, another box will pop up. Choose the location of the extracted files and then press 'Extract'.
Once ran, it would have cleaned the cache. Close this all down and try Pinewood DMS again.
If this doesn't work, the next thing to do is to repair the net framework programmes. This is another download option on the same page titled 'Microsoft Net Framework'.
THIS IS ONLY APPLICABLE IF YOU ARE NOT ON WINDOWS 10.
Once this is downloaded, if you follow the steps it will repair the net framework.
Close Internet Explorer again, and then try to relaunch Pinewood DMS.
