Weightings are used in the calculation for the recommended order.

They need to be set up within;

They are required in order to determine how quickly a dealership wants to react to sales made. This is particularly important during seasonal periods as the number against each month acts as a multiplier of the monthly sales by the value held.

This means that this set up can be used to make some months carry more importance than others when working out and running the automatic stock order routine. This means it should not simply be set (as it often is) as 6,5,4,3,2 and 1, but should be created and updated by Parts Managers in order to ensure that the dealership constantly maintains the stock levels it requires.

The general set up would mean that months 1 and 2 carry more importance than 3 and 4, which in turn then carry more weight than 5 and 6. Weightings can be set over a between 1 and 6 months, although most dealerships will keep this at 6.

This is driven by the field above it of β€˜Number of Months to average sales over’.
