📝 Users are able to search for Customer Records from Branches they do not have access to - Why is this?

Question

I have users that are able to search for Customer Records associated with Branches they do not have access to - why is this?

Answer

The reason a User is able to search and select a Customer Record from another Branch/Department is due to how the Customer/Vehicle Database is stored. 

Within CRM > Parameters > Dealer Parameters - Enterprise Tab, the Customer/Vehicle Parameter will have been set to either Division or Enterprise:

 

 

This will mean the Customer and Vehicle record database is held at either Division or Enterprise Level. Division level will allow users to search for all records within their Division of the Company Structure and Enterprise will allow users to search across the whole structure. 

 

The parameter can be set to Branch and this will mean that the database will then be held at the Branch level and users would only be able to search for customers within their Branch of the Company Structure.
