Question

How do I Set Up Introduction Sources?

Answer

Introduction sources are set up here in the CRM parameters, and form mandatory fields for
completion when a CRM record is created. Introduction sources also drive the introduction
source report – a useful tool in monitoring the effectiveness of a dealership’s marketing spend.
Introduction sources are stored at two levels within the company structure – Enterprise level
and Divisional level. Divisional introduction sources are attached to enterprise level introduction
sources, thus allowing the success of campaigns to be assessed at either level of the system.

To access the Introduction Source parameters, select the following options from the left hand menu:

CRM > Parameters > Introduction Sources

Any existing Enterprise level introduction sources are displayed in the section at the top of the
screen. To view the Divisional level introduction sources attached to the Enterprise level
source, select the desired Enterprise source with a single click of the mouse; the attached
Divisional level sources then display at the bottom of the screen.

Introduction sources are often created so that the Enterprise level introduction sources consist
of generic sources, whilst the Division level introduction sources contain more specific
examples of activity being undertaken. The diagram below provides an example of the structure
that is often used, although this is ultimately a decision to be made by the individual business
dependent upon their individual requirements.
